Agriculture is the basis of everybodies life. It provides our food and drinks as well as non-food commodities like fiber for cloths, construction material, fuel and even beauty (e.g., flowers). Those commodities are produced, processed, marketed and consumed. Unique rural and food cultures are created in thousands of years and still developed. They determine the daily actions and be-havior of everyone.
Usually, science have a look on global thinks using statistics and data collected by others. But statistics are not all. The reality is very often different than the statistics tell us. To have a look on the thinks is a step down from the look from above (statistics) down to the ground (verification). “Pictures tell us more than 1000 words” is very often said, and that is right. Many thinks are much better understood, if we have a picture. Pictures are snapshot of specific moments under specific situations, that can give us an example and tell us the story behind the statistics. Only self-made photos are used, made in the last fifty years.
Ever country and every person have connection to agriculture. All the countries of the world are represented, sometimes in unique ways, sometimes in seemingly ordinary ways. The intention is not to lecture, but to open the eyes of all interested readers to see the diversity and richness of the World of Agriculture.
